Jilsangel in Italy — A Trip to Remember 🇮🇹

There’s something easy and beautiful about Italy. The way the light falls on old buildings, the pace of life, the smell of espresso in the morning and fresh pasta at night everything feels like it was made to be savored.

From Dubai to Rome, we landed excited and curious, ready to see what four days in this timeless country could bring.

Our base was Campo de’ Fiori, a small boutique hotel tucked inside a lively Roman piazza. The location was perfect within walking distance to so many spots, yet quiet enough to feel like our own corner of the city. Mornings there started with espresso and ended with Spritz our go-to drink that quickly became a daily favorite. Cold, orange, bubbly, and totally Italian.

We explored all the places you hear about but feel different in person: The Colosseum, grand and full of stories. The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, where every stone felt like a step back in time. St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, where art and history hit you all at once. And of course, the Sistine Chapel — quiet, detailed, and unforgettable.

Around the Vatican, we found Osteria delle Commari, a cozy spot with homemade pasta and warm service — the kind of meal that slows you down.

We walked by the Trevi Fountain, took it all in, but decided to skip the coin toss., paused in front of the Pantheon, and crossed over to Castel Sant’Angelo just before sunset — probably one of our favorite walks in Rome.

From there, we took the train to Florence, which welcomed us with its own kind of magic. The Duomo, with its bold dome, stood proudly in the center, and the Piazza del Duomo buzzed with energy. We made it to Piazzale Michelangiolo for that famous view of the city — and it was worth the climb.

Our dinner at Caffè dell’Oro, by the river near Ponte Vecchio, felt like a postcard. Florence had its own rhythm — quieter, more romantic, and full of charm.

A little outside Florence, we stopped in Pahlia and had one of the best meals of the trip at Tonnerallo — Tuscan flavors, simple ingredients, and wine that felt like it belonged there.

Every day had a few constants: walking too much, eating really well, and at least one round of Spritz. It became our ritual — refreshing and bright, just like our time in Italy.

This trip gave us more than photos or sightseeing checklists. It gave us moments — shared smiles, new flavors, peaceful silences, and a few "wow" moments we’ll always remember.

Italy was good to us.

And we’ll definitely be back — maybe just for the Spritz. 🍊🇮🇹
